The Funding Formula Study Task Force (FFSTF), appointed by the New Mexico State Legislature and the Governor, and under the direction of the Legislative Council Service, has commissioned the American Institutes for Research (AIR) to conduct a comprehensive study on the current New Mexico public school funding formula. The purpose of this website is to disseminate information on the study, share the dates of public engagement activities and present findings to the New Mexican public.

The AIR Research Team has submitted the completed final report for this project to the Legislative Council Service. Electronic copies of the Executive Summary, Volume I - The Final Report, and Volume II - The Technical Appendices may be obtained by clicking on the links below.
In late 2008, the AIR research team updated the projections of the funding formula developed from the study results and provided new input to the legislative staff to help prepare a bill that is currently being considered in the 2009 60-day legislative session.
